Coach Tim O'Mara's Bio
Tim O'Mara is the founder of ModusFit in 2012. He has a great enthusiasm for exercise and improving people’s health with 14 years of experience in the personal training field. Being innovative in new exercise prescription he has helped his clients see optimal results. Tim has a passion to compete as a world class athlete and he considers his clients athletes. Whether his client is a world class competitor or just trying to improve their general health, Tim trains them to improve their ability and fitness. Tim has trained and is training many professional, Olympic, and collegiate athletes. He also specializes in speed training for speed and endurance athletes.
Tim started bobsledding in 2005 where he was immediately successful in the America’s Cup series winning 9 medals over two seasons. In 2007 and 2008 he earned a spot on the US National World Cup Team. He has 4 top 11 finishes in the World Cup in 4-man bobsled. He took 2nd place in 4-man national championships in 2007. His team competed in Olympic team trials in 2009 taking 3rd place.
After he retired from bobsled in 2009, he began competing in master’s track & field. In 2011 he competed in the World Masters Track & Field Championships placing 11th. He had a USATF 1st overall ranking and a 14th world ranking in the 35-40 year old division in 100m dash in 2011. He was the coach of the Netherlands Track & Field Team during the World Universiade Games in Shenzhen China in 2011.
